Bois d'Hiver Nerikoh evokes a snow-laden forest of ancient conifer trees. Picture in mind the towering pillars of a forest cathedral, made entirely of giant redcedars, Douglas fir trees and Hemlock Spruce, their evergreen branches laden with impeccably white snow.
Bois d'Hiver Nerikoh was created especially for Yule - the Winter Solstice. To celebrate the spirits of the forest and anticipate the return of the sun with fragrant smoke from resins and foraged botanicals carefully blended and shaped into tiny round soft-pellets that produce a aroma, redolent of precious resins (frankincense, myrrh, sandarac, and wild harvested piñon resin and spruce pitch by my friends in Canada and the USA), mingled with forest-foraged needles and saps from spruce, balsam fir, and juniper berries, and many other fragrant spices, and brightened by clary sage from my garden and bright grapefruit blossoms from my orchard. It is anchored in cedarwood, sandalwood, and a pinch of agarwood and snowy Borneol camphor.
Nerikoh is a traditional Japanese kneaded incense, that is hand-rolled and aged and fermented underground for several months or years. It is less known in the west and often burnt during the tea ceremony because they are a refined and smoke-free form of incense. Precious woods, herbs and spices are finely ground and bound together with honey and dried fruit, then rolled into tiny balls.
To use Nerikoh: Kneaded incense is not meant to be burnt, but rather warmed in traditional Koh-Doh cup, or for more convieneinct and accessible technique - place on top of an electric incense heater or aromatherapy lamp/diffuser. You'll only a tiny pinch of each ball to scent a room for hours on end, releasing gentle yet enveloping and exotic aroma.

Kyphi Galilee is a contemporary interpretation of Ancient Egyptian Kyphi recipes, using local ingredients. In addition to the traditional resins that make Kyphi such a soothing balm for the soul, vibrant vegetation and unusual botanicals were used: wild herbs such as myrtle and bay leaves, water mint, sage blossoms, fig leaves and fig wood, vitex berries and many more. The result is a very lively green yet soothingly sweet kyphi that has the life-giving energy of a river lush with vegetation.
The majority of the ingredients were organically grown in my own garden, or wild-crafted. Each raw material was ground separately, then they are all compounded together in a mixture of myrtle and arbutus berries (which were used in lieu of the traditional raisins) soaked in local wine and wild honey. This not only binds together the ingredients but also creates an alchemical process that truly transforms the aroma of the incense and creates a heavenly smoke when burnt on a charcoal. It can also be used by placing on an aromatherapy diffuser (place on a piece of aluminum foil to prevent it from sticking to your diffuser).

Passover Kyphi was born out of curiosity and wonder. From a passion to create a Kyphi for purification, using Ezov (the Biblical Hyssop), which was used by the Israelites to protect their homes from the last and most deadly plague.
Noticing that the traditional process and key ingredients of Ancient Egyptian Kyphi visually and aromatically resembles the Haroset, a traditional paste of minced dried-fruit and nuts, spiced and preserved with wine.
Kyphi is an ancient Egyptian incense which is considered to be the first perfume ever created. The elaborate and complex recipe for Kyphi was found on the walls of Egyptian temples and called for 16 distinctive ingredients. In the temples, Kyphi was burnt at dusk or early evening to prepare for the evening rituals and for dream work. Kyphi was soaked in wine and consumed as medicine, and was burnt by Egyptian nobles to as a personal fragrance by means of smoke (which would cling to hair and clothes), and were burnt in the evening to banish the worries of the day and invite good dreams.
Our Kyphi Passover is a modern interpretation of the original Egyptian Kyphi, using 18 precious ingredients that are ground separately, then compounded together in a mixture of organic resins, local wine and wild honey. In addition to the traditional resins, the Passover edition for Kyphi uses Ezov (Origanum syriacum), myrtle, wild water mint, wild fennel seeds and other secret wild aromatics that are sure to bring a wonderful cleansing and sweet scent to your home this spring.

SATURN NERIKOH
(Japanese Pastilles - for heating only)
Ironically, the harshness of reality hits when reaching the planet that is furthest away from earth. Saturn is often perceived as our challenges, burdened with rigidity and stiffness. On the other hand, it is through this strict form that our innermost intentions will manifest.
Saturn's incense is deep with dark myrrh resin, cedar, cypress, patchouli, cassia, vetiver, agarwood and a touch of honey to balance its heaviness.
Burn on Saturdays, or when you require grounding, material wealth, support as well as discipline to achieve your goals.
Please note: This is Japanese-style Nerikoh, which are honey-based and are meant for warming on a mica plate, aromatherapy lamp or a designated electric incense heater; they are NOT resin- pastilles for burning on charcoal.

Incense cones, hand-rolled in the traditional Asian style, made from botanicals that were finely ground on location and artfully blended. No saltpetre or charcoal used in these cones. Cones are generally faster burning than a thick joss stick (range of burning time may be from 7-15min, and produce more smoke. They are more convenient to burn while traveling and outdoors, and they stand on their own base, and therefore don't really require special equipment or vessels.
Burning instruction: Prepare a heat-proof vessel, on a sturdy surface away from flammables and out of reach of children and animals. To prevent scorch marks, it is recommended that you layer some sand, earth or ash on the vessel. Place the cone and light the tip of it, and allow the flame to extinguish. Because these are handmade cones, each has a different burning times.
