Aqua Akko is a scent-scape of one of the oldest cities in the world, and its vibrant and diverse history and geography. Akko is a tiny peninsula, with a historic Phoenician port adjacent to the Na'aman river, which is where the manufacturing of glass was invented - certainly a technology that had a significant impact on civilization, enabling to store and transport delicate liquid and ephemeral substances, including medicine and perfume.
As one enters Akko's ancient souk, a mishmash of (not-necessarily agreeable) fragrances permeate the air: The scent of fragrant herbs such as spearmint and dill is lately overpowered by the briny, metallic odour of freshly caught fish laid to rest on piles of ice, rapidly overshadowed by thick smoke of olibanum, myrrh and apple-y shisha tobacco that permanently overcast the city's ancient cobblestoned alleys, polished by many feet and fingers of thousands of years of pedestrians of all ages. Add to that the usual Souk aromas of various spices, Baharat, roasted coffee, baklava, rosewater and nana-tea, sweat of passersby, stale urine in hidden corners, and the feeling that we're a continuous lively human thread from the time of ancient trade of sugar, glass, incense and spice. What makes Akko's souk unique is certainly the sea breeze and fish on offer, an odd combination which I was determined to compose together in a a way that would be simultaneously intriguing and as harmonious as possible. The result is certainly intriguing and very difficult to categorize!

Sea Daffodils (Pancratium maritimum) grace the Mediterranean beaches every autumn, as a fragrant farewell to summer. welcoming the fall with a bright white flowers that attracts night creatures. The flowers are the first to emerge after the bulb's dormant stage in the summer months. The leaves come out in winter, and by then, the charcoal-black seeds would have had the chance to sprout and anchor themselves in the sad with tiny rootlets. The flower symbolizes resilience and unconditional love.
Beach Lily perfume is inspired by this wondrous flower, and brings together two things that are dear to my heart: Beach and wild flowers. Rather than being a replica of the flower, Beach Lily perfume captures its essence: both sweet and spicy, cool and warm. Laden with the sandy softness of sandalwood and a bit of that moist and cool sand, licked by the salty Mediterranean waves.

Omixochitl, the Aztec name for tuberose (Agava amica), means "Bone Flower", alluding to its white colour and nocturnal behaviour, and use in funeral rites. Tuberose is a haunting flower with a complex profile, narcotic, simultaneously heady, creamy and smooth, redolent of high-pitched blossoms and undergrowth.
Guided by the philosophy that what grows together goes together, an especially creamy and intense batch of tuberose was paired with other botanicals indigenous to the region: in-home infusion of copal oro resin, palo santo and vanilla absolute, balanced by the freshness piñon pine, and a bitter-herbaceous white sage.
Each rectangular tin contains approximately 10 grams of long lasting and concentrated tuberose solid perfume.

This perfume is both nostalgic and ceremonial, like a warm hug, glowing smile and a reassuring hand of a benevolent ancestor. A safe place in one's heart and dreams. It is simultaneously the first and the last friendly place you'd ever encounter on a long journey.
Cocaigne perfume is a tribute to my Grandma, Ruth Moriel. A woman of this world and at the same time a mythical creature whose powers transcend that of a mere mortal. Her memory is forever blessed with strings of orange corals and sea foam, araucaria resin smoke, clouds of cinnamon and baked apple vapour, and wrapped in veils of Hawaiian sandalwood and frangipani leis.
On one of my last visits to my grandmother's home, she gifted me with "The Joy of Cooking". In it I found a recurring word I could not understand, and when looking it up I learned it is the Land of Plenty, a place for gluttons par excellence. I immediately thought it was the perfect name for a perfume tribute to my grandma. I hope that it will bring comfort, solace and a sense of place to anyone in need of either.

My first initiation to the world of perfume was through the path incense - a road covered with dust of the ages and redolent of spice caravans and ancient ceremonies and secrets.
Incense is the most ancient form of perfume, a well-travelled creature that has been covered by the dust of time like a well-worn traveller on the desert routes of spice and medicine.
Yet, distilling the scent of incense is even harder than capturing the flutter of a butterfly's wings and the scent of a delicate flower. Dance of Fire perfume showcases the beauty and depth of ancient resins and allows the scent of wafting, swirling smokes to caress one's skin. At its heart are frankincense, nagramotha, lovage and a prehistoric fossilized amber resin from Tibet, lending it an almost realistic smoky veil.

Free5!a is an ode to one of the most ephemeral flowers, that elludes distillation. It's green and peppery, yet soft and delicate perfume can be created with a lot of imagination and a pinch of stubbornness, and the purest ingredients chosen to create an all-natural Freesia soliflore, sheer and bright as a raindrop on a flower stem, clear and free of pretence.

Inbar is Hebrew for amber, and is a fresh interpretation of a genre that tends to be syrupy sweet, powdery and linear. Here it's been given some oomph with herbaceous Garrigue notes that cut through the old-fashioned ambreine accord: wild oregano oil and tincture of sharp varthemia that I foraged and prepared myself from the mountain on which my studio is built.
Top notes: Bergamot, Wild Oregano
Heart notes: Jasmine, Rose, Clary Sage, Varthemia, Propolis
Base notes: Labdanum, Vanilla, Patchouli, Sandalwood, Benzoin, Hyraceum

Malabi, the queen of Middle Eastern summer desserts, is a milk pudding served chilled and bejewelled by a fragrant rosy syrup. But what always captured the perfumer's imagination the most about malabi was its soft, evocatively sounding name, and its unique fragrant combination of rosewater and neroli. Two noble flowers, yet so distinctively different that it's surprising they would ever get along at all. Rose is open, voluptuous, sweet and feminine. Neroli is prim and proper, restrained, clean, ethereal and otherworldly that you'd be surprised it grows on a tree. And what holds these two together is nothing but pure, botanical musk. This gentle deer-musk-like accord doesn't need arrows, and plays the harp better than cupid: it walks silently and pulls all the strings with effortless fluidity.
Top notes: Bitter Orange, Blood Orange, Cardamom, Coriander
Heart notes: Neroli (Tunisia), Orange Blossom Absolute, Rose Absolute (Bulgaria), Rose Absolute (Turkey),
Base notes: Atlas Cedarwood, Musk Notes, Myrrh

This equinox night is as warm as daylight itself. A breeze from distant countries brings in the scent of citrus orchards. We are walking in a dream, in our respective home countries: A courtyard in West Amman. An Orchard in Old Jaffa. A garden in Aleppo. Common scents that overcome all worldly conflicts.
Savoured the salty sea air. Faces buried in the white blooming foliage of Clematis armandii and soft hair. We're overcome by a shower of meteorites; Nostrils drowned by the dreamy orange blossom scent. Sitting under wild cherry trees, whose white petals fall one by one into the black pond. Even this beautiful moment will soon disappear into the bleak past.
'Smile to me when you cry', you say. 'so I can see the real you'. The windows to my soul bleeding and shining at the same time.
We will never forget that night. It was equal to the day. It was warm. And after this night the days will be longer and lonelier. Painfully sober save for a sip of tears and a puff of clematis breath of this black heart perfume.
This new perfume is a blank slate in the shape of a black heart upon which you can write and re-write your lover's past, present and future.
Top notes: Cardamom, Mint
Heart notes: Clematis Accord, Salty Tears
Base notes: Incense, Musk
Fragrance Families: Salty Floral, Floral-Ambery
