This Virtual Scent-Trip is an Incense & Tea Ceremony that is inspired by Jules Verne's novel and the ongoing travel restrictions: an evening around the world through scent and aroma. We'll follow Phileas Fogg's route with his French butler Passepartout - enjoying French lavender, sipping English tea, exploring Calabrian Etrog, and exotic incense and perfumes such as Egyptian Kyphi, Ethiopean myrrh, Indian Attars and Nag Champa incense, Sandalwood incense from the Buddhist shrines of Hong Kong, rare aromas from the Japanese ceremonial bath and incense games, and we'll complete our round trip with North America's botanical treasures - Western Redcedar, White Sage, Tobacco and Sweetgrass, before returning to London for more tea and hot scones with jam.

Can be scheduled in person at a date and time that is convenient for you and up to 8 other discerning souls; or online via Zoom for up to 20 people, with an accompanying kit of all the incenses, teas and perfumes to experience that you will receive in the mail in advance when joining remotely, and a winning recipe for scones (the kit is included in the pricing).

P.s. This unique scent-trip is in loving memory of Ruth Moriel, who has circumvented the world more than once in her first 88 years of life. She lived on for another nine years traveling to shorter distances, not any less enjoyable and adventurous. She has survived WWII, escaped the Holocaust and countless wars and battles in her life, until she crossed over to the other realm peacefully in her sleep during the first COVID-19 lock-down in April 2020. Ruth will be forever remembered, loved and missed by her daughters, grandchildren and great-grand-children, and many other family members and friends for whom she has always been a source of inspiration and support.

Discover the world of tea - red, black, green, white, yellow and... blue! Learn about the difference between perfumed tea and aromatized tea, and how to create your own tea blend. We'll be using authentic, freshly dried aromatic botanicals to flavour our tea blends, which we'll enjoy at the end of the class along with some seasonal treats - it's always a good idea to taste before you serve!

בסדנה נפגוש את הצמחייה המקומית בעלת ניחוחות ואיכויות המיטיבות עם הגוף והנפש. נלמד על ההבדלים בין תה ירוק, שחור, אדום, לבן, צהוב ו…כחול!

במהלך האירוע כל משתתף יערבב את הצמחים האהובים עליו עם תה משובח, וייקח הביתה קופסאת תה עם תווית יפה שיצר.

בסוף הסדנא גם נחלוט את התה שיצרנו, ונטעם ממנו בתוספת פינוקים ריחניים ומתוקים ביתיים.

Ever wished that Lilac season lasted a little longer or wanted to capture the scent of your garden and just bottle it? This is a dream you can make true as long as you have access to an ample supply of fresh flowers, and a few simple tools and materials that are readily accessible.
Enfleurage is a labour-intense art form, in which the scent exhaled by living flowers is captured and preserved. It is one of the most rewarding projects, that once you understand the principles of, you could set off on your own to extract from many fragrant flowers, and truly connects you to the earth, the seasons and the beautiful world of scent. 

An Enfleurage Mini-Course via Zoom includes three one-hour sessions in which we'll learn the principles of preparing traditional yet vegan enfleurage, extraction and also two less known methods of capturing flowers beauty for years to come.

Theoretical workshop about the applications of natural fragrance in soapmaking, pertaining to both technical and aesthetic aspects: which natural raw materials are suitable for soapmaking? How to create a natural scent that is durable in soap? Which ones to avoid to prevent skin irritation and sensitization? Which ones cause discolouration? 
Natural perfumer Ayala Moriel will demonstrate with case studies of fragrances and soaps she has created, as well as a few renown soap formulae.

אילו שמנים ותמציות ריח טבעיות מתאימים ביותר לבישום סבון? באיזה מינונים? כיצד לוודא שניחוח נשאר בסבון לאורך זמן? מאיזה שמנים יש להימנע או להיזהר בגלל סיכון לגרויים לעור וכדומה? אילו שמנים גורמיפ לשינוי צבע הסבון? ועוד טיפים וטריקים ליצירת סבון ריחני טבעי.
אילה מוריאל (בשמית, מעצבת ניחוחות וסבונאית) תדגים עם סבונים וניחוחות לסבונים שעיצבה, ונוסחאות היסטוריות לניחוחות סבונים.

 יהיה כמובן גם זמן לשאלות ותשובות וסיור בגינת הפרא הריחנית שבסמוך לסטודיו (כדי להינות מהחלק הזה, נא לבוא עם נעליים נוחות להליכה).
