This course is devoted to the modern fragrance families of Marine and Aquatic perfumes. To master this genre, the student must have prollific understanding of the natural raw materials, and feel confident working with the quirky raw materials essential to this genre. Advanced lab sessions and lectures will cover concepts such as perfume structure, composition, building marine (oceanic) and aquatic (watery) accords, and mastering composition of both Marine/Oceanic and Aquatic perfumes in an alcohol base.
Designed for the most advanced students of perfumery, and for working perfumers who wish to polish their skills at manipulating the composition with much finesse and refinement, and master the use of unique, rare and unusual accessory notes. This week-long intensive course runs Mon-Thu from 9:30am-4:30pm, and 9:00am-1:30pm on Friday, and offers theoretical and practical guidance alongside hands-on lab exercises and experiments.
Friday is dedicated for feedback, summary and one-on-one sessions with Ayala for each participant.
Prerequisites: Must have read the book and completed Citrus & Cologned and/or Lab 101, Fougère, Chypre, Oriental, Floral Bouquets and Leather courses. Completed study guides for all essences in the Intermediate and Advanced Essences Kit.
