Bois d'Hiver Nerikoh evokes a snow-laden forest of ancient conifer trees. Picture in mind the towering pillars of a forest cathedral, made entirely of giant redcedars, Douglas fir trees and Hemlock Spruce, their evergreen branches laden with impeccably white snow.
Bois d'Hiver Nerikoh was created especially for Yule - the Winter Solstice. To celebrate the spirits of the forest and anticipate the return of the sun with fragrant smoke from resins and foraged botanicals carefully blended and shaped into tiny round soft-pellets that produce a aroma, redolent of precious resins (frankincense, myrrh, sandarac, and wild harvested piñon resin and spruce pitch by my friends in Canada and the USA), mingled with forest-foraged needles and saps from spruce, balsam fir, and juniper berries, and many other fragrant spices, and brightened by clary sage from my garden and bright grapefruit blossoms from my orchard. It is anchored in cedarwood, sandalwood, and a pinch of agarwood and snowy Borneol camphor.
Nerikoh is a traditional Japanese kneaded incense, that is hand-rolled and aged and fermented underground for several months or years. It is less known in the west and often burnt during the tea ceremony because they are a refined and smoke-free form of incense. Precious woods, herbs and spices are finely ground and bound together with honey and dried fruit, then rolled into tiny balls.
To use Nerikoh: Kneaded incense is not meant to be burnt, but rather warmed in traditional Koh-Doh cup, or for more convieneinct and accessible technique - place on top of an electric incense heater or aromatherapy lamp/diffuser. You'll only a tiny pinch of each ball to scent a room for hours on end, releasing gentle yet enveloping and exotic aroma.

Omixochitl, the Aztec name for tuberose (Agava amica), means "Bone Flower", alluding to its white colour and nocturnal behaviour, and use in funeral rites. Tuberose is a haunting flower with a complex profile, narcotic, simultaneously heady, creamy and smooth, redolent of high-pitched blossoms and undergrowth.
Guided by the philosophy that what grows together goes together, an especially creamy and intense batch of tuberose was paired with other botanicals indigenous to the region: in-home infusion of copal oro resin, palo santo and vanilla absolute, balanced by the freshness piñon pine, and a bitter-herbaceous white sage.
Each rectangular tin contains approximately 10 grams of long lasting and concentrated tuberose solid perfume.

Annual course dedicated to the in-depth research and study of the Plant Kingdom.
Bi-weekly sessions, which take place year-around in which we will listen to, observe and discover the plants in their natural habitat at Ayala Moriel's "Cave" and fragrant garden in Clil, and mostly outdoors in the wilderness of the Galilee.
The course focuses on exploring the life cycle of plants, and the mysterious and magical teachings that we can draw from their ways of life, survival mechanisms and unique qualities: Chemistry, colour, aroma, flavour and texture and the plant's way of life all teach us about the plants properties and how they can assist us in healing our body, mind, spirit and the planet.
We will develop close relationships with the local plants, as well as discover some exotic ones from far away lands that are essential for understanding the human-botanical connection and its history in medicine, cosmetics, incense and perfume.
We will learn about the history of plants from ethnobotanical point of view, their versatile applications from time immemorial - as food source, medicine, spice, construction, weaving, incense, perfume, magic, art and so much more.
The course is suitable for medicine people and healers, artists and artisans, and anyone who hears a calling from the plant world - be it from professional or personal reasons. For me personally this course is making a dream come true - to get close and intimate with the Plant People and give back to Mother Earth. This connection on and of itself is healing to all people and the planet!
The course will commence December 12th, 2019, and will take place on a bi-weekly basis, to a total of 24 sessions throughout the year.

Inspired by Chai's soothing and spicy-creamy aroma, these incense cones contain a complex blend of resins, spices and fragrant woods. Key notes: Sandalwood, benzoin, dammar, frankincense, ambrette seeds and a proprietary chai masala.
Chai Incense cones are hand-rolled in the traditional methods, made from finely ground botanicals, and bound with natural gums or wood bark. No saltpetre or charcoal used in these cones. Cones are generally faster burning than a thick joss stick (range of burning time may be from 7-15min, and produce more smoke. They are more convenient to burn while traveling and outdoors, and they stand on their own base, and therefore don't really require special equipment or vessels.
Burning instruction: Prepare a heat-proof vessel, on a sturdy surface away from flammables and out of reach of children and animals. To prevent scorch marks, it is recommended that you layer some sand, earth or ash on the vessel. Place the cone and light the tip of it, and allow the flame to extinguish. Because these are handmade cones, each has a different burning times.
Chai Incense cones come in a box containing about a dozen cones. Each box contains a dozen cones.
