Around the World in 80 Minutes
Now that gatherings are limited, if cooking parallel dinner parties while connecting via online conference apps seems too tedious, I would like to suggest an alternative, the next best thing to a Portkey if you will... In memory of my late grandmother, Ruth Moriel who passed away during the first lockdown this spring, I will be holding a special event that follows her many travels across the globe, using incense of plants indigenous to each locale. My grandmother was a jet-setter with an unparalleled adventurous spirit and her wanderlust took her to all corners of the world, well into her late 80s.
I invite you to participate in that event on what would have been her 98th birthday, on Saturday, December 26th, titled Around the World in 80 Minutes. This Virtual Scent-Trip is an evening around the world through incense, scent and aroma that is inspired by Jules Verne's novel and the ongoing travel restrictions. You will receive a kit with all that's needed to take part in the live event from wherever you are.
We'll follow Phileas Fogg's route with his French butler Passepartout - beginning with sipping English tea with French lavender before we set on an 8-course incense and scent journey exploring exotic incense and perfumes I've created and curated for the occasion, and which will be mailed to you in a kit prior to the event (which is held virtually all over the world via Zoom, on my grandmother's birthday, Saturday, December 26th, between 8:00-9:20am Tel Aviv time (GMT+2).
